What happens when I get my IELTS test remarked?

When you request a remark, your IELTS test will be remarked by an experienced senior IELTS examiner who is not aware of the original marks awarded for each part - Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking. Your test centre is then notified of the remarked result and if the mark has changed, you will receive a new Test Report Form (TRF).

Should I apply for an EOR, or just wait to re-sit my test?

If you feel confident that you have done better than your score shows, applying for an EOR is one option for you.  This is marked by a senior examiner who marks it independently from your first examiner.  After this second assessment, your score either stays the same or is higher, depending on the senior examiner’s rating.

Why has my test centre sent me the result of my EOR, I thought IDP head office remarked it?

EOR requests and all IELTS test day matters are handled by your test centre.  IDP responds to the EOR requests by using a team of senior examiners.

It has been 13 days since I have taken my IELTS test and I haven't got my results yet. What should I do?

We post your IELTS on Computer test results to you as soon as they are released, which is  3  to  5 days after you complete the test. Some test centres will allow test takers to pick up their Test Report Form directly from the centre, so we recommend contacting them prior to the release of results to discuss this.
If you  have  been waiting on your IELTS Test Report Form (TFR) with your official result, but have not received it, we recommend contacting your test centre. In some rare circumstances, IELTS results can be delayed because of security and integrity reasons. If there are concerns about any matter associated with your test and if it  is  considered that malpractice may have occurred, you will be advised that your results have been withheld. In exceptional circumstances, it may be required that you need to re-sit one or more IELTS test sections. In all situations where you might have concerns about your results, we recommend contacting your local test centre.

You must also be aware of scams offering IELTS information or false Test Report Forms. Will my scores decrease if I request a remark?

If you are not happy with your IELTS result and request a remark, your score can only remain the same or go up. We do  not reduce your score. If your score goes up, the fee you paid to request a remark will be refunded.
